While every brewery tour seems to start in the brewhouse,
Great Divide’s world-renowned beers get their start
well before our brewers open a single valve. Starting
with a carefully crafted recipe, choice American hops and
up to seven types of malted barley, each Great Divide beer
has a carefully planned pedigree. From there, our brewers
work their wonders, crafting our hugely-popular ‘big
beers’ such as Hercules
Double IPA and Old
Ruffian Barley Wine, as well as our more-accessible offerings
such as Denver Pale Ale and Samurai.
Cellaring
After the excitement of crafting another batch of our world-renowned
elixirs in the brewhouse, both our beers and our brewers
need a little time to mellow out. While our brewers
get to kick back with a St.
Bridget’s Porter or Yeti
Imperial Stout, our beers move to the cellar, where they
have time to condition and mature, developing the complex
flavor profiles Great Divide’s beers are known for.
Packaging
Once the beers are aged to perfection, the beer’s
speed picks up for kegging and bottling. Our packaging
process is a show in and of itself – as our packaging
crew expertly guides our frothy creations into the bottles
and kegs that will safely transport our carefully-crafted
libations to you.
